Gilbert Temple Open House
The Gilbert temple is having it's open house before it is dedicated. The fam quartet got to play for the VIP tour in the "after party" tent. Then last Tuesday we got to go through the tour with Dev's mom, Tyler and Alex. It was really awesome and pretty inside. Tyce liked it and today he told me "Mom I want to marry Evie in the temple!...please can I right now!" Even though he doesn't really understand any details, he understood that the temple is a special place. And he knows he wants to go there someday like mom and dad. When we walked through a sealing room I told him this is like where mommy and daddy got married. And he said "Is that where you sat with daddy and held hands? (while pointing to the altar) I wonder if Devin told him that because I didn't. He has a great memory for details.

Where are we going to hang our stockings?
Where are we going to hang our Christmas stockings? On our fireplace mantle of course! Wait....we don't have a fireplace? Well we'll fix that! It started with a peep hole under the stairs to see how much room we had for extra storage. Turns out there is a ton of wasted space under there! I could put food storage, Christmas decorations, naughty children under there...the possibilities are endless. We were going to make a secret bookcase entrance like our last house but I needed somewhere to hang our stockings. Lets look at some pictures.
taadaa! That is how you make an Arizona fireplace. Complete with fake airbrushed brick and plug in logs. Just don't try to start a real fire in there...you will burn our house straight down. Evie and Tyce liked to help and Dawson and Evie have declared the little step an official baby stage. We love it so far, I can't wait 'til Christmas!!

Our New Home
Here are some pictures of our new house. These are some of the listing pictures because of course we haven't gotten around to taking new pictures or doing anything really to the new house yet. The new place is a different style than our old house. No red cabinets, light bamboo floors or golf course view. It is typical AZ newer construction so the character and history isn't there like our old house, but we love it the same! Less unpredictable and quirky, more cozy, warm and homey. Lots of room to run around and have family get-togethers. A great place to raise more chilluns and grow with us.

Lots of Changes in 2013!
The start of 2013 included Devin's new position with Hexcel in Casa Grande. His job with M3 engineering had him in Casa Grande for the last 2.5 years but it was a contract position that was set to expire. We knew he was going to be transferred to another location, it was just a matter of time. As 2012 wound down he was offered a permanent position with Hexcel. As he gave his notice to M3 we learned his next location would have probably meant traveling for extended amounts of time. The next location would have been Nevada. Feww! I'm so glad we are being watched over and guided to where we need to be as a family. I spent the beginning of 2013 super pregnant. The thought of packing up and moving our house while being 9 months pregnant, or 1 month into a new baby didn't appeal. Tyce had a birthday in March, Baby Evie Zelda was born in April, and the majority of the summer was spent cooped up inside nursing a wee-one and trying to stay out of the heat. Just as the temperatures peaked and miss Evie became a bit less grub-like, The thought of moving to Casa Grande finally began to sound like an option. ( It also didn't hurt that house prices in Mesa were finally up a little. ) September was packing and cleaning and showing. October was negotiating and compromising and searching. November was closing and offering and moving. Just before Halloween we moved in with Grandma and Grandpa Dopp. We spent 3 weeks there, then spent another 3 weeks at Grandma and Grandpa Lovell's house. We put our house into storage in between, then on December 7 we finally moved out to Casa Grande. So far we love the new house and new location. It is an hour away from our old house and the Grandparents but we are willing to make the trek. Devin has no more commute which means we get to see him for more time during the day. For me, this means win because the kids love to spend time with their daddy. Evie is 8 months today and growing and growing. She just had her first christmas and was so good. She loved hanging out with family and getting tons of attention. Tyce had a great christmas as well and made out like a bandit. He got pirate toys galore and hasn't stopped playing for 2 days. I got a computer, yay! Which is going to make life a billion times easier. Turns out it is nearly impossible to blog, pay bills, create relief society hand outs, sell a house, and buy a house using only my smart phone.
Pics from our fancy date with our realtor/friends the Rosenbaums. I don't have any other pics on this computer yet!
